Support the Next Generation

We value our children and being a community that is a good place to raise a family. For example:

Expanding childcare access

Central Minnesota, more so even than the rest of the state, struggles with a severe shortage of childcare. This shortage discourages working families from moving to the area, which in turn hobbles local economies. The City plans to build a childcare facility in Little Falls using federal appropriations in 2022-2023.

Building a splash pad

Building a splash pad for the children of Little Falls has been a longstanding intention of the City. A splash pad would provide a safe, local place for children to recreate in the summers, and its proposed location in Belle Prairie would help with water circulation in the area.

Exploring a community center

Communities thrive when they have somewhere to come together. The City is preparing a budget for a Community Recreational Complex where Little Falls residents can socialize, work out, convene meetings, and play. Many other towns and cities have already constructed a facility of this type. Now it’s our turn to invest in the infrastructure necessary to strengthen our community bonds. See the Economy page for how we intend to fund this important project.
